There was resentment due to alliance with AAP.

The major reason behind Lovely's resignation is coming to light; Congress's alliance with aam aadmi party has become a major reason. Due to this, there was internal strife going on in delhi congress, which was proving impossible for Lovely to calm down. According to Arvinder Singh Lovely, the organization of delhi congress was against the alliance with aam aadmi party in the lok sabha elections . The only reason for aam aadmi party coming into existence and capturing power in delhi was AAP's then movement against congress, because at that time congress was in power in both the Center and Delhi. During that time, AAP leaders had made false, fabricated and malicious allegations of corruption against Congress. Despite this, the party decided to form an alliance with AAP in delhi, which was not acceptable to the leaders and workers of the organization.
