Congress has announced candidates for two more seats in Punjab. yamini Gomar has been given a ticket from the Hoshiarpur seat and Amarjeet Kaur Sahoke from the Farikot seat. congress has expressed confidence in two women candidates in its second list. yamini Gomar left aam aadmi party and joined congress in 2016. Earlier, congress had announced candidates for six seats in Punjab.

Earlier, congress had announced the names of Charanjit Singh Channi from jalandhar seat, amar singh from Fatehgarh Sahib, Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu from Bathinda, Sukhpal Singh Khaira from Sangrur and Dharamveer gandhi from Patiala.

While in delhi the congress is contesting the elections in alliance with the aam aadmi party, on the other hand in punjab both parties have jointly contested the elections separately. punjab congress wrote on X, "Congress has released the second list in view of the lok sabha elections. Congratulations to the candidates. We are sure that you will raise the voice of truth by winning with a huge margin."

Results of last lok sabha election

In the 2019 lok sabha elections, congress had won eight seats in Punjab. Gurjit Singh Aujla from amritsar seat, manish Tiwari from Anandpur Sahib, Mohammad Sadiq from Farikot, amar singh from Fatehgarh Sahib, Santosh Singh Choudhary from jalandhar, Jasbir Singh Gill from Khadur Sahib, Ravneet Singh Bittu from ludhiana and Preneet Kaur from patiala won the election. Praneet Kaur and Ravneet Singh Bittu have now joined BJP. Apart from this, Harsimrat Kaur Badal of Akali Dal won from Bathinda, sukhbir singh badal of Akali Dal from Firozpur, sunny deol of bjp from Gurdaspur, Som Prakash of bjp from Hoshiapur and bhagwant mann had won from Sangrur seat.
