The Prime Minister, narendra Modi, may boast numerous accomplishments, and his influence may be considerable in northern states, but the strength of the bharatiya janata party (BJP) in andhra pradesh (AP) remains uncertain. Despite Modi's successes nationwide, the BJP's foothold in ap is notably weaker, with scepticism prevailing among the populace regarding Modi's impact on the state.

Historically, the BJP's presence in ap has been limited, with few significant achievements to show, apart from securing four mp seats in seemandhra in 1998, which was a notable success at the time. However, since the division of the state, seemandhra has data-faced considerable challenges, leading to disillusionment among the populace. Despite hopes for improvement under Modi's leadership, progress has been lacking, fuelling opposition towards the bjp in the region.

Critics argue that Modi's visits to ap have failed to address key issues plaguing the state, such as the privatization of the steel plant and the delayed completion of the polavaram project, a national endeavour marred by bureaucratic delays and inadequate funding from the Centre. The BJP's failure to fulfil promises, including granting special status to ap and addressing concerns related to partition-related assets, has further fuelled resentment among the people.

Despite being granted flexibility in borrowing from the Centre, ap has received minimal special grants, exacerbating its financial woes. Consequently, questions arise regarding the BJP's accountability for the state's lack of development and escalating debt burden.

In the upcoming elections, voters seek answers from Modi regarding his government's performance in ap and its failure to fulfil promises made to the state. While the bjp may strategize for political gains in ap, the absence of satisfactory responses from the party's leadership undermines its prospects in the region.
