Electoral Bonds: The state bank of india (SBI) has submitted a complete list of electoral bonds to the election commission of india, according to the information given to the supreme court on Thursday. According to the data released after this, the total amount received through election bonds is 

Rs.12,145.87 crore. Of this amount, the top 10 donors, i.e. 33 percent or Rs.4,548.30 crore, are given below.


Lottery tycoon Sebastian Martin's company Future Gaming and Hotel services contributed the most to the scheme, buying bonds worth Rs. 1,365 crore, according to data provided by SBI. Second-ranked Mega Engineering & Infrastructures has donated Rs. 966 crore, while Reliance-affiliated Kwik Supply Chain has bought bonds worth Rs. 410 crore. Vedanta Ltd. Rs. 400 crore worth of bonds, RB-Sanjiv Goenka Group's flagship thermal plant company Haldia Energy Ltd has bought Rs. 377 crore worth of electoral bonds. Also, mining company Essel Mining has bought election bonds worth Rs. 224.5 crore.


Meanwhile, Western UP Power Transmission Company cashed bonds worth Rs.220 crore. Telecom giant Bharti airtel is eighth on the list with bonds worth Rs. 198 crore. Kolkata-based FMCG conglomerate Keventers Foodpark Ltd and steel products manufacturer MKJ Enterprises bought electoral bonds worth Rs. 195 crore and Rs. 192.4 crore respectively.

The bharatiya janata party (BJP) has been the biggest beneficiary through the Electoral Bond Scheme, receiving over Rs. 6,000 crore in donations in the last four years. Hyderabad-based infrastructure firm Mega Engineering (MEIL) has donated heavily to the BJP. That means bonds worth Rs. 519 crore have been purchased.
