Big relief to ED officers from Jharkhand High Court


Accordingly jharkhand high court has put a stay on the notice sent by ranchi police to ED officers under the SC-ST Act. hemant Soren had lodged an FIR against ED officers under this Act on january 31. ranchi police, which is investigating this, had sent summons to ED Additional director Kapil Raj, Assistant director Devvrat Jha, Anupam Kumar and Aman patel under Section 41A of CrPC. The police had asked these officers to be present at Gonda police station on march 21. The court of Justice Anil Kumar Chaudhary said that till further orders, the police cannot issue notice to ED officers and call them for questioning.

Perhaps the Enforcement Directorate i.e. ED has filed a petition challenging the FIR lodged under the SC-ST Act on behalf of former jharkhand cm hemant Soren. While hearing this on march 4, the high court had ordered a ban on any coercive action against ED officers. In the further hearing on the same petition on Thursday, the court has maintained the relief given to ED officers.

Here, on behalf of hemant Soren, three weeks' time was demanded to file the intervention petition in this case. On this, the court has fixed the next hearing of the case after three weeks. It is noteworthy that after the raid conducted by ED at his residence in delhi, hemant Soren filed an FIR on january 31 against the agency's Additional director Kapil Raj, Assistant director Devvrat Jha, Anupam Kumar and others at the ST-SC police station in Ranchi. The former cm of jharkhand had alleged that the way his delhi residence was searched by ED officers on january 29 and the way propaganda was carried out against him were insulting. Soren had said that he comes from Scheduled Tribe. The ED operation is going to humiliate him and his entire community.
