Why bailable warrant was issued against Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur?

Earlier on wednesday (March 20), accused Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur was ordered to appear in the court in the Malegaon 2008 bomb blast case. Despite the order of a mumbai court, Pragya Singh Thakur could not appear in the court today. The lawyer appearing in the court on behalf of Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur informed the court that Sadhvi is in mumbai but her health is very bad due to which she is not able to appear in the court.

By citing ill health, the lawyer asked for more time. Accepting the lawyer's advice, the court ordered Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur to appear in the court on march 27. During the hearing, the court said in clear words that Sadhvi Pragya Singh will have to appear in the court on the next date, otherwise a non-bailable warrant will be issued against her. Let us tell you that due to not being present in the court at the time of hearing, a bailable warrant was issued against Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur and there was an order to appear in the court today. Last year, Pragya Singh Thakur cried while recording her statement before the special NIA court in Mumbai. At one point she became emotional and the court proceedings were stopped for 10 minutes until she calmed down.

Moreover apart from Pragya, other accused in this case are - retired Major Ramesh Upadhyay, Lieutenant Colonel prasad Purohit, sudhakar Chaturvedi, ajay Rahirkar and sameer Kulkarni. Since the trial began in december 2018, the court has so far recorded the testimony of 323 witnesses, out of which 34 turned hostile. On september 29, 2008, about nine people were killed and more than 100 were injured when bombs tied to a motorcycle exploded near a mosque in Malegaon, a Muslim-dominated city of Nashik on Friday.
