ED Issues consecutive summons to Arvind Kejriwal...
Two new summonses were served to delhi Chief minister arvind kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate on Sunday. The cases are related to the delhi Jal Board and the liquor policy. kejriwal received a ninth summons from the central agency earlier in the day over their investigation into the delhi excise policy case. Later on, regarding an issue with the delhi Jal Board, the AAP chief received a second notification from the ED. In the delhi Jal Board case on Monday, march 18, and in the liquor policy matter on Thursday, march 21, kejriwal has been ordered to appear before the agency.AAP leader Atishi responded to Kejriwal's summons by saying, "Nobody knows what this DJB (Delhi Jal Board) case is about." This appears to be a fallback strategy to arrest kejriwal regardless and prevent him from running for the lok sabha elections. Notably, kejriwal had disregarded eight summonses that the cbi had sent in relation to the case of the liquor policy scandal. In two allegations brought by the Enforcement Directorate against kejriwal for allegedly missing repeated summonses in a money laundering case, the delhi court granted him bail.The court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate divya Malhotra also granted kejriwal permission to leave.It read, "Accused arvind kejriwal is admitted to bail; offence is bailable." The court also mandated that the investigative agency provide kejriwal access to any records related to the complaints. The anti-corruption group filed two complaints with the magistrate court on behalf of the ignorant, asking that kejriwal data-face charges for allegedly disobeying multiple summonses that were sent to him about the issue. The aam aadmi party (AAP) national convenor is accused of violating federal investigating agency summonses no. 4 through 8 that were issued in compliance with Section 50 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), according to PTI.
