As per report a notification has been issued by the Modi government at the Center regarding the implementation of the citizenship amendment act before the lok sabha elections in the country. There are reactions from all the politicians across the country regarding this. Meanwhile, BJP's veteran Muslim leader Shahnawaz Hussain has called it a big decision of the Modi government.
Meanwhile Shahnawaz Hussain wrote on his "Grants citizenship to religious minorities. This is completely in line with India's secular credentials." Let us tell you that the citizenship amendment act was passed in the year 2019. After this, this Act also got the approval of the President, but there were protests against caa in many places in the country including shaheen bagh in Delhi. Due to these demonstrations this law could not be implemented.
This law could not be implemented till now because the rules for its implementation were yet to be notified, but now the way has been cleared. According to the Parliamentary business Rules, the rules of any law should be framed within six months of the assent of the President otherwise the government will have to seek extension of the period from the subordinate legislative committees of the lok sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
