Former Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi can contest elections?

Former punjab congress President and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu has refused to contest the lok sabha elections. Navjot Singh Sidhu has said that he will not contest the lok sabha elections this time. According to sources, he has informed the party high command about this. It is being told that Sidhu has cited family reasons behind his decision of not contesting the lok sabha elections. At the same time, former cm Charanjit Singh Channi can get the ticket from Jalandhar. Along with this, congress can field manish Tiwari from Chandigarh. aam aadmi party and congress are contesting elections separately in Punjab. Whereas in delhi and gujarat the party is contesting elections together.

Sidhu will not contest lok sabha elections

congress has not yet announced the candidates for the lok sabha elections in Punjab. Former punjab congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu has flatly refused to contest the lok sabha elections citing family reasons. After Navjot Singh Sidhu's refusal, the question is who will be given the ticket in his place. In the year 2017, Sidhu ended his innings with bjp and joined Congress. He was mp from amritsar seat twice in 2009 and 2014 elections.

Charanjit Singh Channi's name almost decided

congress can field former cm Charanjit Singh Channi as its lok sabha candidate from jalandhar lok sabha seat of Punjab. According to sources, his name has almost been finalized and the party high command may make an announcement in this regard soon. It is being told that the party wants to focus completely on Doaba region by fielding Charanjit Singh Channi from jalandhar seat. About 42 percent voters in this area come from Dalit community. Along with this, ticket can be given to former Union minister and senior congress leader manish Tiwari from Chandigarh.
