During this, he has asked to be prepared to conduct the upcoming general elections in a free, fair and peaceful manner. cm Mann, while presiding over a meeting with several senior police officers including IG, police Commissioners, said that it is necessary to conduct this election smoothly, so that people can freely exercise their franchise.

cm Mann further said that elections are a celebration of democracy and every possible effort should be made to ensure that people can participate in these elections without any fear. According to an official statement, he said that the police officers should make proper arrangements for the purpose and no stone should be left unturned for this noble cause. The chief minister has also asked the police officers to coordinate with all key stakeholders, including political parties, to conduct the lok sabha elections peacefully. He said that there should be a feeling of security among the political parties so that they can participate enthusiastically in these elections. The Constitution of india provides equal opportunity to all political parties to participate in elections and this should be followed in every way.

People's religious sentiments should not be hurt - Bhagwant Mann

Giving information, bhagwant mann said that many companies of paramilitary forces will soon reach the state to assist the punjab Police. He said that these forces are not familiar with the traditions, beliefs and customs of the state and hence punjab police should take the lead to ensure that the religious sentiments of the people are not hurt.
