Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde inaugurated first phase of Coastal Road in Mumbai

Reports stated that to provide relief to Mumbaikars from traffic, after the mumbai Trans Harbor Link Bridge, maharashtra Government has gifted the country's first coastal road to the people of Mumbai. maharashtra Chief minister Eknath Shinde has inaugurated the first phase of Coastal Road in Mumbai. After its inauguration, the journey from Worli to Marine Drive can be covered in just 9 to 10 minutes. Earlier it used to take 40 minutes to cover this distance.

Meanwhile according to the information that has come out regarding the first phase, a part of the 10.58 km long coastal road has been built under the sea. This is the first road in the country, which has been built inside the sea. The work of the first phase has been done by BMC. The portion going south will start from Worli. It has three interchanges. Emerson Garden, Haji ali and Worli.

Let us tell you here, the journey on the coastal road will be completely free. There are 2 tunnels in the first phase. However, today only one tunnel (Priyadarshi Park to Parsi Gymkhana) will be operational. Coastal Road will remain operational between monday to Friday. The entire work of the 10.58 km long coastal road being built from Marine Drive to Worli is expected to be completed in May 2024. A grand central park will be built on 320 acres of land around this project. Similarly, different trees will be planted in 200 acres of land. people will be able to drive at a speed of 80 km per hour on the coastal road. Entry of some vehicles on the coastal road has been prohibited. This includes trailer, mixer, tractor, two wheeler, three wheeler, bicycle, handicapped vehicle etc.
