Prime minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 15 airport projects on Sunday, including the renovated Terminal 1 of the indira gandhi International airport in Delhi, which is estimated to have cost over Rs. 9,800 crore. This marked a significant improvement to the nation's aviation infrastructure. Twelve new terminal buildings for the airports in Pune, Kolhapur, gwalior, Jabalpur, Delhi, Lucknow, Aligarh, Azamgarh, Chitrakoot, Moradabad, Shravasti, and Adampur were part of the project that the prime minister essentially launched during an event in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, the foundation stones for the airports in Kadapa, Hubballi, and Belagavi were laid.

He claimed that now that Azamgarh has an airport, a hospital, and a medical college, it is independent of the larger cities that are nearby. Modi made a subtle jab at the congress when he stated that instead of the previous politics of dynasty and appeasement, the region has witnessed politics of development over the past ten years. "Chief minister Yogi Adityanath's leadership gave this trend a new momentum," he stated.
