Rajya Sabha's number game changed due to the court's decision

Voting for 10 rajya sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh is to be held on february 27. Before this, difficulties are increasing for the Samajwadi Party. On Friday, a kanpur court rejected the petition of SP mla Irfan Solanki demanding that he be allowed to vote. Earlier, the court had also denied permission to Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj party mla and SP leader Abbas Ansari. In such a situation, the number game seems to be changing.

In the UP assembly, which has 403 MLAs, 399 MLAs were already eligible to vote as 4 seats are vacant. Now that the two jailed MLAs have not been allowed to vote, this number has come down to 397. Although only 37 votes are still required for 1 rajya sabha MP, the pressure on SP seems to be increasing.

congress with SP...

At present the number of SP MLAs in the assembly is 108 but after Irfan did not get permission, the number has increased to 107. If SP has to make all its candidates win then it will need 111 votes. Now that there is an alliance between SP and congress in UP, 2 congress MLAs can also vote for SP candidates, after which the total number of MLAs is reaching 109. There is still a shortage of 2 MLAs.

In such a situation, the boat of rajya sabha candidates of SP chief akhilesh yadav seems to be in the hands of raja Bhaiya. Jansatta Dal Loktantrik has two MLAs. It is believed that if the political enmity between SP chief and raja Bhaiya ends, then Akhilesh's problems may be reduced, but if this does not happen, then the former UP cm will have to depend on cross-voting of other parties. In the assembly, there are 6 MLAs from Nishad party, 6 from SubhaSP, 13 from Apna Dal SK, 252 from BJP, 2 from congress, 1 from BSP. Now it will be interesting to see whom raja Bhaiya will vote for along with his other fellow MLA. If he repeats the 6 year old story then there is a high possibility of SP's third candidate losing. If he supports SP, then there will be no less difficulties for BJP's 8th candidate Sanjay Seth.
