Congress can give Gujarat's Bharuch seat to AAP, will Mumtaz Patel agree?
Aam Aadmi party (AAP) and congress seem to be agreeing on seats regarding the lok sabha elections. Meanwhile, sources said that congress may give Bharuch seat of gujarat to AAP. AAP has already announced its candidate for this seat. delhi Chief minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, who was on gujarat tour on january 7, declared mla Chaitra Vasava as the candidate from Bharuch.
mumtaz Patel's claim
mumtaz patel, daughter of late leader Ahmed patel, is claiming this seat from Congress. mumtaz patel has expressed displeasure over the speculations about giving seat to AAP. While sharing a quote on social media post on Wednesday, mumtaz patel said, "My father has taught me that win or lose, but fight till the end and do not give up." Earlier sources had told that if congress gives Bharuch seat to AAP, then congress can get chandigarh seat.
Bharuch Congress's letter to mallikarjun Kharge
BJP has been in control of Bharuch seat for 34 years. local congress leaders want mumtaz patel to carry forward the legacy of her father Ahmed patel on this seat. On tuesday (February 20), the district committee had also written a letter to congress President mallikarjun Kharge regarding this and had raised objection to the announcement of AAP's candidate. Bharuch congress Committee said, “If this seat is given to AAP, congress workers will not work for the alliance. Bharuch is the only lok sabha seat in gujarat which is favorable for congress due to the equation of Muslim-tribal voters.
