Former bihar cm and RJD leader Rabri Devi has been elected leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council. Rabri's son Tejashwi Yadav is the leader of opposition in the assembly. Earlier, bjp leader Hari Sahni was the leader of Opposition in bihar Legislative Council who replaced Samrat Chaudhary in august 2023. Rabri Devi became cm for the first time in 1997 when her husband RJD Chief Lalu Yadav was named in the fodder scam. After this she remained cm from 1999 to 2000 and again from 2000 to 2005. Rabri has been the first woman cm of Bihar.

Recently, Rabri Devi was seen in an aggressive form in the assembly when cm Nitish Kumar, pointing towards her, said that 'under his rule, women did not come out of the house'. Hearing this, Rabri Devi immediately took hold of the mike and asked Who gave respect to the poor? A video of Rabri also went viral in which she was seen reprimanding a JDU councilor. JDU MLC Sanjay Singh, who had raised the slogan of 'Lalu Yadav Murdabad' in the Legislative Council, was stopped in the portico of his car and angrily said, "Ka Sanjay!" Why keep saying, “Down with Lalu Yadav.”

Rabri Devi has also been the leader of opposition before.

Even before this, Rabri Devi had been the leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council. He got this post in october 2022 when RJD got recognition as the opposition party in the Upper House. By then the number of RJD MLAs in bihar Legislative Council had increased to 11. The total number of members in the Legislative Council is 75. The party that wants the post of leader of Opposition must have at least 10 percent seats. Rabri Devi was elected leader of Opposition even before 2022, but then five RJD councilors changed parties due to which Rabri had to step down from the post.
