Apart from Nadda, bjp has nominated party leaders Jaswantsinh Parmar, mayank nayak and diamond businessman Govind Dholakia as candidates for the elections to be held on february 27. When Nadda reached the state assembly complex here to file his nomination papers, gujarat Chief minister Bhupendra patel and bjp state unit chief C.R. Patil was with him. Returning officer rita Mehta accepted the documents of all four bjp candidates.
Who filed nomination from where?
Mehta said a person named Paresh Mulani has also filed his nomination as an independent candidate on Wednesday, but his candidature will be rejected during scrutiny of papers as he does not have the support of any MLA. It is mandatory as per rules. Since no other party has fielded candidates and thursday is the last day for filing nomination papers, these four bjp candidates are likely to be elected unopposed.
The special thing is that Mansukh Mandaviya and Purushottam Rupala have completed their rajya sabha tenure and have not been re-elected this time.
