What is the whole matter regarding Haldwani violence case...?
Reportedly violence broke out due to bulldozer action on a madrassa in Haldwani city of nainital district of Uttarakhand. Many people have lost their lives in this violence while more than 100 people have been injured. On thursday (February 8, 2024), when the police administration team arrived to take action to remove the madrassa and mosque built in Banbhulpura area, the local people protested and started pelting stones. After which curfew was imposed in the area to control the situation.
Earlier on sunday (February 11), a large number of paramilitary forces have been sent by the Centre. Along with this, one platoon of paramilitary force has reached Haldwani and four other platoons of paramilitary force will reach Haldwani after some time. The situation in Haldwani became so serious that the administration had to issue orders to shoot at sight the rioters to calm down the matter. At present, paramilitary forces have been sent by the Center to maintain law and order. They will be deployed in the riot affected area Banbhulpura. At present, complete curfew has been imposed in the riot affected area Banbhulpura.
Perhaps in fact, there was an 'illegally' constructed madrasa and namaz place in Malik's garden in Banbhulpura area of Haldwani. According to PTI, Municipal Commissioner Pankaj Upadhyay said that there was three acres of land near this site, which had already been taken into possession by the Municipal Corporation. After this the illegal madrassa and namaz place were sealed. He told that on thursday (February 8) the illegal madrasa and namaz place were demolished with the help of JCB. At the same time, as soon as the illegal madrassa was demolished, violence started. SSP Prahlad Meeni said that the madrasa and mosque were built on illegally encroached government land. Before the demolition of both these places, a large number of police and PAC were deployed following the court order. However, despite the presence of police and PSC, the situation went out of control and stone pelting started. At present the situation is under control. The police are keeping an eye.
