New universities will open in Sagar, Khargone and Guna, given approval

The Higher education Department of madhya pradesh has given in-principle approval for the establishment of government universities in three areas including Sagar. Its orders have also been issued. In these, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Arts and Commerce college Sagar has been renamed as rani Avanti Bai university Sagar. However, the order also said that the Leading college will be the organizing unit of the university, meaning the college will continue to exist.

In fact, the Higher education Department has given in-principle approval for the establishment of three new universities in the state in the name of national heroes under the National education Policy-2020. In these, government universities will be established by upgrading colleges in Sagar as well as in Khargone and Guna. Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Arts and Commerce college in Sagar will be upgraded to Avanti Bai Lodhi, government Post Graduate college in Khargone will be upgraded to kranti Surya Tantya Bhil university, government Post Graduate college in Guna will be upgraded to Tatya Tope university Guna.

Admissions will start from the upcoming session

In the order issued by the Higher education Department, it was said that 'studies in these universities will be started from the session 2024-25. Admission here will start from the coming session itself. Official notification for the establishment of the university will be issued separately. As a result of the upgrade, all the assets, records, liabilities of the government colleges and the students taking admission in the college from the session 2024-25 will be considered to belong to the university. A separate order will be issued for acceptance of posts in the university and other financial inclusion subjects.
