CBI claimed high level of corruption and extortion racket in Delhi jails

As per report delhi Lieutenant governor Vinay Kumar Saxena has ordered a cbi inquiry against Rajkumar, former jail superintendent of Tihar Jail. Rajkumar is accused of extorting Rs 10 crore from swindler Sukesh Chandrashekhar on the instructions of Satyendar Jain, who was a minister in the delhi government.

Meanwhile the Lieutenant governor has ordered a cbi investigation under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Rajkumar was the superintendent of jail number four of tihar jail complex. In november last year, cbi had sought permission from Lieutenant governor Vinay Kumar Saxena to register a case against former delhi minister Satyendar Jain. Who is accused of extorting crores of rupees from many high profile prisoners including Sukesh Chandrashekhar. This alleged extortion was being done in the name of providing facilities to the prisoners in the jail.

Perhaps Sukesh Chandrashekhar had alleged that Rs 10 crore was extorted from him between 2018 and 2021 so that he could live comfortably and peacefully in jail. It is said that the then Jail Superintendent was close to the director General of the Jail and he had helped in extorting money from Chandrashekhar. It is said that an attempt was also made to collect this money through Paytm. Rajnivas has made this claim. The cbi had earlier claimed that a high level of corruption and extortion racket was being run by jail officials and others in delhi jails. Let us tell you that minister Satyendar Jain has been granted bail by the supreme court on medical grounds. He is out on bail. He was arrested by ED in May 2022 in money laundering case.
