It is not enough for the Chief Minister to write a letter.. When will there be an end to the atrocities of the Sinhalese army? Ramadoss!

Sekar Chandra
I have pointed out hundreds of times that the Sinhalese Navy is arresting the fishermen of tamilnadu with the sole aim of destroying their livelihood.

Ramadoss said that the Sinhala force's trespassing and arresting the fishermen of tamil Nadu while they were fishing in indian waters is condemnable.

In this regard, in the X site published by BAMA founder Ramdas: The Sinhalese force has arrested 19 fishermen of Rameswaram area along with their two boats who were fishing near Kachchadivu in the Bay of Bengal. Two of the arrested persons are said to have come from orissa and were working as fishermen. It is reprehensible that the Sinhalese force has trespassed and arrested the fishermen of tamil Nadu while they were fishing in indian waters.

23 Rameswaram fishermen were arrested last Sunday. The fact that 19 more fishermen have been arrested by the Sinhalese army while no action has been taken to rescue them cannot be considered normal. This should be seen as a planned action against tamil Nadu fishermen.

I have pointed out hundreds of times that the Sinhalese Navy is arresting the fishermen of tamilnadu with the sole aim of destroying their livelihood. Realizing this, instead of taking steps to find a permanent solution to this problem, it is not enough for the chief minister of tamil Nadu to write letters to the central government. It will not do any good.

A few days ago, the madras high court heard the case of attack and arrest of tamil Nadu fishermen, why did the central and state governments not take constructive steps to solve the problem of fishermen? had raised the question. Central and state governments should take steps to find a permanent solution to the arrest of fishermen at least after the condemnation of the High Court.

It should be made a legal right for tamil Nadu fishermen to continue fishing in the areas traditionally used by tamil Nadu fishermen in the Bay of Bengal. The central government should hold talks with the Sri Lankan government in this regard. Ramadoss has urged the central and state governments to take steps to rescue all the fishermen who are languishing in Sri Lankan prisons, including the 19 fishermen who have been arrested now, and all the boats owned by the Sri Lankan government.
