What are the rules framed by UCC?
Reportedly if UCC is implemented in Uttarakhand, the marriage age of girls will increase. The age of girls will now be increased from 18 to 21 years. Both husband and wife will have equal rights for divorce. Registration will be necessary after marriage. There will be a complete ban on polygamy. If anyone does, action will be taken against him. Both son and daughter will get equal rights in inheritance.
According to sources, UCC report may have these rules-
- In the report of the committee, the age for boys was fixed at 21 years and for girls at 18 years.- Men and women were given equal rights to divorce- There will be no conditions for the woman to remarryIf a case like Halala comes to light after the implementation of the law, there will be a punishment of three years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1 lakh.- The second marriage was solemnized if both husband and wife were alive.- Registration of not only marriage but divorce made mandatory- In case of divorce or domestic dispute between husband and wife, the mother will get the custody of the child up to five years of age.- Equal rights in property for sons and daughters for all classes- Equal rights for legitimate and illegitimate children in property rightsThe child in the womb of a woman has also been given protection in property rights.- Live-in registration will be mandatory on the registered web portal.- You will get a receipt on registration, you will be able to get a house on rent without the receipt.- The registrar will inform the parents of the couple about to register.- Six months imprisonment or Rs 25,000 fine for not registering- No law of any kind has been made for adoption in UCC-The marriage age of girls will be increased so that they can graduate before marriage.-There will be mandatory registration of marriage. Without registration, you will not get the benefit of any government facility. There will be facility for marriage registration at village level also.
