Republic Day: Key points of Delhi Police traffic advisory
According to the traffic advisory, the Republic Day program will start from Vijay Chowk at 10:30 am on friday and will move towards red Fort grounds. The main ceremony will take place at the National war Memorial, india gate at 9.30 am. There will be extensive traffic arrangements and restrictions on the parade route.
The advisory said that the parade will pass through Vijay Chowk, Dutva Path, C.Hexagon, Subhash chandra bose Gol Chakkar, Tilak Marg, bahadur shah zafar Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg and reach red Fort.
No vehicle is being allowed to move on the duty route from Vijay Chowk to india gate from 6 pm on Wednesday. The restrictions will remain in place until the parade ends.
It has been said in the advisory that from 10 pm on wednesday till the end of the parade, vehicles are not allowed to cross Rafi Marg on Duty Path, Janpath, Man Singh Road. C-Hexagon-India Gate will remain closed for traffic from 9.15 am on thursday till the parade crosses Tilak Marg.
Traffic will not be allowed on Tilak Marg, bahadur shah zafar Marg and Netaji Subhash Marg from 10.30 am on Thursday. Traffic will be allowed to cross only depending on the status of the parade. The traffic advisory has suggested alternative routes that drivers can follow.
The delhi police traffic advisory states that non-traditional flying activities like paraglider, paramotor, drone, ultralight craft, remote operated craft, hot air balloon, small craft, quadcopter, unmanned helicopter with four rotors, or para jumping from an aircraft. Banned till 15th February.
From 11 pm on thursday night till the end of the parade, no heavy transport, light cargo vehicles will be allowed to enter delhi from other states. In this, people have been requested to use public transport as much as possible to reach the duty path.
delhi police Deputy Commissioner Virendra Vij on wednesday issued necessary instructions to all the zonal officers, traffic inspectors and traffic station in-charges of the district for complete implementation of the traffic advisory and protocol.
