Aam Aadmi Party's nominated members swati Maliwal, sanjay singh and ND Gupta have been elected unopposed to rajya sabha in Delhi. No candidate from any other party filed nomination papers. The six-year tenure of MPs sanjay singh, ND Gupta and Sushil Kumar Gupta was ending on january 27. cm Arvind Kejriwal's reaction has come after the three leaders were elected unopposed. cm Kejriwal wrote on Twitter, "Many congratulations and best wishes to the three leaders of the aam aadmi party elected to the Rajya Sabha. I am confident that you will strongly raise the issues of the common man in parliament and fight for the rights of the people of Delhi. ." aam aadmi party wrote on its social media post, "The voice of the common man of the country will echo in the Parliament." After the victory, all three leaders also got certificates.

It is noteworthy that aam aadmi party mp sanjay singh is in jail. He came out of jail and filed his nomination. The court had given him permission for this. At the same time, swati Maliwal has become the first woman mp of Aam Aadmi Party. After being nominated to rajya sabha, she resigned from the post of Chairperson of delhi Women Commission.

The last date for filing nominations was january 9, while the sorting of nomination papers was done on january 10. The last date for withdrawal of nomination was january 12.
