PM Modi will hand over the dues to labor union in Indore
Prime minister Narendra Modi will participate in the program 'Dedicated to the welfare of workers' in indore on 25th December. During this, he will hand over a check of about Rs 224 crore related to the dues of Hukumchand Mill workers to the official liquidator of the mill and the heads of the labor union. This program will be organized through video conferencing at 12 o'clock. This program will symbolize the resolution of the pending demands of the Hukumchand Mill workers. PM Modi will also address this program.
After the closure of Hukumchand Mill in indore in 1992, its workers fought a long legal battle for payment of their dues and later went into liquidation. Recently, the madhya pradesh government played a positive role and successfully negotiated a compromise package. Which was supported by all stakeholders including courts, labor unions, mill workers. The settlement plan includes paying all dues in advance to the madhya pradesh government, taking over the mill land and developing it as residential and commercial space.

During the program, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone of a 60 MW solar power plant being set up by indore Municipal Corporation at village Samraj and Ashukhedi in Khargone district. With the establishment of the new solar power plant being built at a cost of Rs 308 crore, indore Municipal Corporation is likely to save about Rs 4 crore per month in electricity bill.
