delhi government Transport minister Kailash Gehlot said on wednesday that a big announcement has been made regarding public and other transport services. He has said that the delhi government will soon start a system under which people of the capital will be able to travel in multiple modes of transport using a single ticket. He said that work on the single ticketing system is in the final stages and very soon people will be able to actually avail the benefits of it.

Ticket rates not decided yet

By implementing this scheme of delhi Transport Department, people will be able to travel in metro, bus, autorickshaw and cab only with a single ticket. Tickets for this will be available online. delhi Transport minister Kailash Gehlot said that the Transport Department has not yet decided the ticket rates. delhi Transport Department is in the process of finalizing the multi-modal integration required for the seamless functioning of this system. He said that tickets will also be available on Open Network for wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">digital Commerce (ONDC).

MoU will be signed soon

According to the Transport minister, the department is very close to signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to move from paper tickets to wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">digital ticketing for public buses in the capital. Passengers will now be able to buy bus tickets on whatsapp instead of bargaining with conductors.
