MLA cannot call meeting, CM Khattar in Haryana Assembly

Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on tuesday informed the assembly that being elected

representatives, MLAs can get information about development projects in their area from any official. However,

MLAs do not have executive powers, so they cannot officially call a meeting of officials.

The chief minister, during the zero Hour of the ongoing winter session, addressed congress member B.B. Said

this while replying to a question raised by Batra. Answering another question on unemployment in the state, the

Chief minister said that according to the Periodic Labor Force survey report, the unemployment rate in the state

during July-September 2023 was 5.2 percent, while the national figure was 6.6 percent. cm Khattar said that

during this period the unemployment rate in himachal pradesh was 14.5 percent, in punjab it was 8.8 percent,

while in rajasthan it was 12 percent. Khattar said that it is a matter of happiness that his government has been

successful in reducing the unemployment rate of the state.

CM Khattar targeted Congress

Apart from this, cm Khattar, while targeting congress, said that during the tenure of the opposition party, cases

of atrocities against members of scheduled caste (SC) communities were either not registered and if registered,

they were suppressed. Khattar said that victims of such atrocities had to run from door to door to register cases.

He said that after bjp came to power in haryana in 2014, strict instructions were issued to police stations to

ensure that any person wishing to lodge an FIR could do so without any hindrance.
