Naam Tamilar party Chief Coordinator Seeman has condemned that it is worrying that the government is not taking any action when the southern districts are experiencing heavy rains that have not been seen in 200 years. In a social media post published by Seeman, the chief coordinator of Naam Tamilar party, "Due to continuous heavy rains that have not been seen in the last 200 years, the southern districts including Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, tenkasi, Kanyakumari are looking like a flood forest. The plight of the people is causing great distress as the government has not carried out full-scale rescue operations and disaster relief operations so far. Due to DMK government's indifference, when Chennai, the capital city, was hit by heavy rains, it is highly condemnable that the government is acting with the same indifference in the southern districts, which have suffered unprecedented damage.

Due to continuous heavy rain in southern districts, Thiruchendur, Alwar Thirunagari, Vekyanvilai, Ebenkudi, Kudankulam, Thiruvaikundam, Kayalpattinam, Valliyur, Saminhapuram, Mulokaraipatti, Kalakkadu, Kovilpatti, Maiiladi, Anjugramam Road, Irachakulam, Phethuvilai, Kulasekaram, Nagerkovil, Kulithura, Aralvaimozhi and Tirunelveli. , Most of the major roads in tenkasi districts have been completely damaged by the floods. The weather department has announced that the heavy rains will continue and the people are in a state of panic.

All the major dams including Tamiraparani, Manimutthar, Parumparai, Perunjani, Chittaru, Mambazthurayar and Mukkadal are overflowing. Thousands of houses have collapsed in all four districts. Entire southern districts are plunged into darkness as several hundreds of power poles are downed and power is completely cut off. Many villages have been cut off into isolated islands as rivers have burst their banks and land bridges have been washed away. Thousands of trees have fallen on the roads, making it difficult for people to reach safe places.

All the ponds and canals of the southern districts have been filled and burst in many places, thousands of acres of farmlands have been flooded and crops including paddy have rotted. The people staying in the camps are not provided with basic facilities such as adequate food, drinking water, medicines and toilets. As the people are unable to buy essential items due to the rains and floods, the government is not providing any relief assistance and the people have lost their homes and taken shelter in the camps and are dying of hunger. Therefore, the government of tamil Nadu has ordered to speed up the flood rescue operations which are being carried out slowly and to rescue the people on a war-time basis. The Union government of india has sent the National Disaster Response Force to the four districts to rescue the people trapped in the flood, remove the trees that have fallen on the roads and repair the traffic, repair the electric poles and provide power supply to the affected areas. Immediate action should be taken to fix information telecommunication so that people can communicate in urgent need. Also, on behalf of the tamil party, I insist that the people who are staying in the camps should be provided with food, drinking water, clothes and toilet facilities, and adequate medical measures should be taken to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

We, my fellow Tamilians, who have immediately stepped into the field and provided relief aid during every natural calamity, should immediately step into the field and do our best to help the people of our southern district who are affected by heavy rains and floods. In particular, I request my brothers and sisters belonging to Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, tenkasi, Kanyakumari and its neighboring districts to immediately collect as much essential items as they can, such as food, clothes and medicines, and distribute them directly to the affected people and console them to recover from this pandemic.
