Chinese pneumonia virus in AIIMS Delhi..?
The seven outbreaks have nothing to do with the rise in respiratory infections among children in parts of the world, including China. The Union health Ministry also clarified that these seven infections were detected as part of an ongoing study at AIIMS delhi over a period of six months (April to september 2023). Mycoplasma pneumoniae was not detected in 611 samples tested at the Department of Microbiology, AIIMS delhi, as part of ICMR's multi-respiratory pathogen surveillance from last january till today, mainly acute respiratory disease detectable by real-time PCR.
Also, “Mycoplasma pneumoniae is caused by the common bacteria of community-acquired pneumonia. It accounts for about 15-30% of infections. No outbreak has been reported in any part of india as reported. The Union health Ministry is in touch with the state health authorities and is monitoring the situation closely on a daily basis.” It is also reported
