Rajasthan Congress Legislature meeting, decision on Leader of Opposition
The congress Legislature party meeting was held on tuesday (December 5) at the party’s state headquarters here.
In the meeting, a proposal was passed to leave the decision of naming the leader of Opposition in Rajasthan
assembly to the party high command. congress General Secretary Swarnim Chaturvedi said after the meeting
that A resolution was passed in the meeting held at the state congress headquarters, in which the party high
command has been authorized to decide the name of the leader of Opposition.
In this meeting, outgoing chief minister ashok gehlot, congress State President Govind Singh Dotasara, senior
leader sachin pilot as well as special observers appointed by the party Bhupendra Singh Hooda, Mukul Wasnik
and madhusudan mistry also participated. Chaturvedi said that after the meeting the observers talked to the
MLAs one by one. It is noteworthy that voting was held on 199 assembly seats of the 200-member assembly of
the state, whose votes were counted on sunday (December 3). In this, bjp got majority with 115 seats while
congress was reduced to 69 seats. After the results came, ashok gehlot submitted his resignation from the post
of chief minister to governor Kalraj Mishra.
There was no anti-incumbency wave against Congress
After the meeting, ashok gehlot told the media that the election results were shocking because there was a
feeling among the common people that the congress government would repeat in the state. He said that the
results in madhya pradesh and chhattisgarh were also unexpected. Not only this, acting chief minister Ashok
Gehlot said, We were expecting that the congress government would repeat but the results were shocking. The
vote share of congress has not reduced which is a good sign for the future. He reiterated that there was no anti-
incumbency wave against the congress government.
