Collector honored the body of young man who donated organ?

The district collector, doctors and students paid their respects by sprinkling flowers on the body of the brain-dead young man who donated his body organs in Dharmapuri. Kaliyappan's son Kaviarasu (age 23) belongs to Erraseegala Alli village next to Karimangalam in Dharmapuri district. On the 24th, he was seriously injured in an accident while riding a two-wheeler near Athiyaman Fort. He was rescued and admitted to Dharmapuri government Medical college Hospital for treatment. Later admitted to salem Hospital for further treatment.


The doctors who examined him there said that Kaviarasa's head was severely injured and treatment was useless. After this he was again shifted to Kaviarasu Dharmapuri government Medical college Hospital. After this he became brain dead. Later, following the advice of doctors, his family members came forward to donate his organs. After this the heart and lungs were sent to chennai for surgery, kidney to coimbatore and government salem Medical college Hospital and liver to Dharmapuri government Medical college Hospital. They took the heart safely to chennai by Green Guard Ambulance. district Collector Shanti and doctors, medical college students, nurses, staff and relatives paid floral tributes to Kaviarasu's body in the hospital this morning after the organs were donated.
