PM Modi offers prayers at Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi temple in Mathura

Prime minister Narendra Modi offered prayers at the sri krishna Janmabhoomi temple in mathura on thursday and attended the 'Mirabai Janmotsav,' which was arranged to commemorate the poet and Lord krishna devotee's 525th birth anniversary. "The family of Mirabai and the people of rajasthan sacrificed everything they had for the protection of our religious sites," PM Modi stated at the ceremony. The people of rajasthan acted as a barrier between the two, protecting India's essence. This ceremony serves as a reminder of that sacrifice and fortitude."
Taking to X, the prime minister posted pictures of his visit to the temple and wrote, "Got the privilege of divine worship at Shri krishna Janmabhoomi temple in Mathura. The beautiful sight of Girdhar Gopal, who resides in every corner of Braj, left me emotional!". In mathura, the prime minister was greeted by actor-turned-politician hema malini and felicitated by Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath.
Yogi Adityanath credited PM Modi for the spread of yoga across the globe and the Kumbh mela getting global recognition.
"You spread yoga in 190 countries of the world... Kumbh got global recognition... Now, mathura, Vrindavan and all the pilgrim places are getting the benefit in the last nine years," Adityanath said.
The UP chief minister also referred to the upcoming inauguration of the ram temple in ayodhya in january next year, and said, "In ayodhya, every person knows, that something that was impossible, is going to happen in your leadership on january 22, 2024."
