PM Modi gave his shoulder after defeat in women's cricket too!?
The final match of the 2023 cricket world cup was held in ahmedabad on november 19. In this match, the indian team, who batted at Madal, were bundled out for 240 runs in 50 overs. Chasing towards a simple target, the Australian team lost only 4 wickets and won by scoring 241 runs. Devastated by the defeat, the indian players left the stadium in tears. prime minister Modi also went to watch this match. After the match, prime minister Modi met the indian players in their room and consoled them. Captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Coach rahul Dravid, Mohammed Shami, ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Subman Gill, kuldeep yadav personally met and appreciated each player. He said that he was proud of the performance of the indian players, noting that they had played well throughout the series and had won ten in a row.
Prime minister Modi has earlier consoled the indian team which was in defeat. In 2017, when the women's cricket team failed and missed out on the trophy, PM Modi met the indian players in person. He himself spoke about it on his Manat Voice radio show. "My daughters have done well in the Women's world cup cricket recently. I had the opportunity to meet them this week. I enjoyed talking to them. But not winning the world cup was a big burden for them. I could see the pressure and tension on their data-faces," PM Modi said in a radio address.
"See, this is the age of media. Due to this, expectations become high. When they don't win, it turns into anger. If indian players fail, the anger of the country falls on those players. We have seen many such cases," PM Modi also recalled consoling the players.
