Union Minister is proud for change in Health sector?

As per report Union Housing minister Hardeep Singh puri proudly expressed that there has been a change in the health sector since 2014.

Celebrated on november 19 every year, World Toilet Day aims to break down barriers to installing toilets and help make sanitation for all a global development priority. The day holds significance for india as toilets were at the heart of India's cleanliness drive, addressing myriad health and hygiene concerns. On the occasion of World Toilet Day, minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh puri, speaking at a program organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, said, “Any initiative to promote India's development has always included a cleanliness drive. In 2014, only 37% of india had no open latrine. In 2019, we are almost complete in this regard by constructing toilets,” he said.


Union minister Hardeep Singh puri recalled that prime minister Modi had launched Swachh india, the world's largest health initiative to achieve an open toilet-free india by october 2, 2019, as a tribute to mahatma Gandhi. Talking about the transformation of the healthcare system in urban india through the Swachh india movement, the minister noted that the unprecedented construction of toilets under the movement has helped achieve the audacious goal of no open toilet in urban areas.


The minister spoke about how this movement has brought positive change in the lives of women, girls and sanitation workers. The movement has promoted women-friendly toilets. She said it has formalized temporary workers and encouraged women-led enterprises in health, leading to the empowerment of women and girls. The minister then also mentioned the focus that the Clean india Movement has brought to the safety and dignity of the cleanliness workers.
