Lakhs of Muruga devotees from all over the world come to Tiruchendur for this purpose. Tens of thousands of devotees stay in this temple for the 6 days of Kanda Shashti, without eating anything and drinking only water.


This year's Kanda Shashti festival started on the 13th with flag hoisting. 'Surasamharam', the main event of Kanda Sashti, will be held on the 18th. In this case, the Hindu Religious Charities Department has increased the darshan fees at Tiruchendur Arulmiku Subramania Swamy Temple. Vanathi Srinivasan has said that basic facilities such as toilets and hygienic drinking water should be provided in Tiruchendur where lakhs of devotees gather.
