After issuing challans on a car belonging to mla Ram Kumar Chaudhary's family, Ilma Afroz, the Superintendent of police (SP) Baddi of himachal pradesh, was sent on a 15-day leave of absence. Due to unlawful mining operations in the Baddi region, she took action against Chaudhary's family car and issued challans for several offenses, which allegedly led to an altercation with the MLA. He then petitioned the himachal pradesh assembly for privilege against her.
The rivalry was further heightened when Chaudhary and Afroz failed to attend an SP office event and the Independence Day celebration in August, respectively. During the assembly session, Chaudhary openly called for her transfer based on scandal. In 2018, Afroz, an IPS officer, began working for the department. For her work in the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh (BBN) area, she has received recognition. After taking over at Baddi in january 2024, she received several accolades for her contributions to the area.
She completed her philosophy degree at st Stephens College, where she received a scholarship to Oxford University, before joining the police. She has been assigned to voluntary labor in paris and New York City following additional education. As of right now, Afroz has returned to her hometown of Uttar Pradesh and given up the ASP.
