Congress’s Shadow Cabinet released white paper on pollution
Uncontrolled pollution in the capital delhi is becoming a big problem for the kejriwal government. While BJP
has taken an aggressive stand against AAP and cm arvind kejriwal regarding this, congress has taken a step
forward in this matter and has also targeted AAP and BJP. Regarding the uncontrolled pollution, a shadow
cabinet of former ministers of the congress government under the leadership of Arvinder Singh Lovely issued a
white paper, in which measures to deal with pollution have also been suggested.
Lovely held both the Center and the delhi government responsible for the worsening pollution situation in
Delhi. Apart from Lovely, former ministers Harun Yusuf, Rajkumar Chauhan, Mangatram Singhal and Krishna
Tirath were also present in the conference. Releasing a white paper on pollution, Lovely demanded the
Lieutenant governor and the chief minister to immediately convene an all-party meeting to discuss air
pollution and said that a monitoring committee be formed under the chairmanship of a supreme court judge to
deal with pollution. In which environmental experts are also included. Which will keep an eye on the reasons
for increase in pollution and the damage caused by it from the month of November.
delhi needs 20 thousand buses
Lovely said that there is a need to improve the public transport system in the capital, for which 20 thousand
buses are required. So that people use scooters and motorcycles as little as possible. While emphasizing on the
need to make adequate plans for waste management, he said that complete sewer system should be built in
unauthorized colonies, BRT system, cycle track and footpaths need to be built to improve the infrastructure.
Whereas in view of the delay in metro projects, he demanded that the work of metro extension should be done
under the supervision of the Union home Minister.
