Arvinder Lovely attacks AAP, Yamuna water polluted due to govt’s failure
Preparations have been started for the Chhath festival to be held after Diwali. Since this festival is very important
for the Purvanchalis, for which ghats are also being constructed by the delhi government. At the same time,
leaders and regional representatives are also arriving to take stock of the ghats and the preparations being made
there. In this series, delhi Pradesh congress Committee President Arvinder Singh Lovely came to visit ITO
Chhath Ghat located in Yamuna.
During this, Lovely reiterated the demand for dry day on Chhath festival. For this, delhi congress had also
submitted a memorandum to the Lieutenant Governor. While visiting Chhath Ghat located on Yamuna, Lovely
said that the people of delhi are facing the double havoc of pollution. On one hand, the air is getting completely
polluted, while on the other hand, due to the failures of the government, the water of yamuna has become
completely poisonous.
Devotees forced to worship Chhath Mata in contaminated water
Attacking the kejriwal government, Lovely said that despite big advertisements and budget allocation, the
government has neither been able to make any positive plan to control pollution in the capital nor has it been
able to control the poison dissolving in the water of Yamuna. He said that due to the failure of delhi government
and indifference towards the public, Purvanchal devotees are forced to worship Chhath Mata in polluted water.
Lovely said that Chhath is the great festival in the coming 4-5 days, but the government has not issued any
instructions to the Irrigation Department regarding its preparations, nor has the Jal Board made artificial ghats
and made arrangements for water in them yet.
Government and corporation failed to improve cleaning system during Chhath festival
Accusing the delhi government, Lovely said that no talks have been held with the haryana government to
release excess water in yamuna so that the people of Purvanchal can worship in clean water. He said that both
the delhi government and the delhi Municipal Corporation have failed in cleaning the capital on the occasion of
Chhath festival.
