There are 75 Most Vulnerable Tribal Tribes (PVTGs) in 22,544 villages in 220 districts of 18 states of the country with a total population of 28 lakh. This Rs 24,000 crore scheme will focus on comprehensive development of these vulnerable tribal communities. This is the first such scheme after independence. Sources in the Prime Minister's office said that on november 15, the 'Janajati Gurava Day' for the development of tribals will be held and the project will be launched on that day. The new mission was announced in the budget for 2023-24. Now the mission is implemented through 9 Ministries.
Tribals live in scattered, remote and inaccessible habitations. They are in forest areas. Therefore, the objective of the mission is comprehensive development of such families. The scheme provides tribals with improved access to basic amenities such as road and telecom connectivity, electricity, safe housing, clean drinking water and sanitation, education, health and nutrition and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, PM Gram Awas Yojana, Jaljeevan Missions are carried out in Samaropadi in tribal areas. Rules are relaxed for smooth implementation of these schemes. Under the PM Jana Arogya Yojana, Sickle Cell Disease Prevention, tb Prevention, 100% Immunization Distribution, PM Safe Motherhood Yojana, PM Matru Vandana Yojana, PM Poshan and PM Jan Dhan Yojana will be implemented here.
