In many villages of Madhya Pradesh, such superstitious traditions are followed on the second day of Diwalifestival, in which many people even get injured. In Bhidavad, Loharia of ujjain district, people lie down on themain road of the village and hundreds of cows pass over them. These traditions are being followed for a long timein the name of Govardhan Puja.In fact, villager Sapna Vishwakarma says that there is an old belief that if one follows these traditions then nodisaster befalls the village. Apart from this, people also make a wish and when their wish is fulfilled then theybecome a part of this tradition. Even in Bhidavad of ujjain district, people are risking their lives to follow thesetraditions due to superstition.Puja starts five days before DiwaliPeople say that the worship of animals starts five days before Diwali. After this, on the next morning of Diwali,people gather on the main road of the village with the bang of drums. After this, some people lie down on theground and cattle are passed over them. Rajesh, who participated in the vow, says that he has become a part of thistradition for everyone's happiness and to fulfill the vow. He has not suffered any kind of injury. Whoever takespart in the event by taking the name of god, his wishes are fulfilled.
The village is named after Gauri Puja.Villager Radheshyam told that, this unique tradition has been named village Gauri Puja. people participating invillage Gauri Puja follow rules and restraint, those who lie down in front of animals on the main road also startworshiping many days in advance. Although no one has been seriously injured while following this tradition,people do get slightly injured.
