Why Puma Company filed a case against Shoe Manufacturing Company?
Puma is a company that sells sports-related shoes and other products globally. In this case, a company from agra was caught selling fake shoes using the company's logo. The delhi high court was recently hearing a case in which an Agra-based shoe manufacturing company was found to be selling shoes using the logo of German sports shoe maker Puma. In this case Puma Company filed a case against this in delhi court. In this case, the high court has given a drastic decision to the company from Agra. In the published judgment, the Agra-based company has to pay Rs 10 lakh as damages to Puma. According to official documents, PUMA, a globally recognized sports brand, has approached the delhi high court alleging that various counterfeit products are being sold under the 'PUMA' mark in agra, Uttar Pradesh and delhi and Haryana. Following this, the court granted an interim injunction to the defendant from selling or manufacturing any shoes bearing the PUMA trademark. A local commissioner was also appointed to investigate the matter. However, the court on friday passed a permanent injunction as the defendant decided to stay out of the proceedings.
