USA Shootings - 22 killed in Maine's Lewiston city, suspect at large

Multiple gunshots in Lewiston, Maine, on wednesday resulted in at least 22 fatalities. The gunman is still on the loose. CNN reports that there are more than 50–60 wounded persons involved. Though it's unknown how many people are hurt by the gunshots. Robert Card, 40, has been designated by the Lewiston police Department as "a person of interest" in relation to the shootings. Card should be "considered armed and dangerous," the police issued a warning.

The shooting spree happened at a Walmart distribution centre, a neighbourhood pub and a bowling alley, according to ABC News. Under the condition of anonymity, two law enforcement sources told the Associated press that detectives were still going over the crime sites and gathering evidence.


According to Reuters, the Lewiston police posted two images of a suspect aiming what seemed to be a semiautomatic weapon earlier today and stated that they were looking into at least "two active shooter events" in the city.

"All companies are urged to close or go into lockdown while we conduct our investigation. The Androscoggin County Sheriff's office posted a message on data-facebook stating that the culprit is still at large. Additionally, the Maine State police issued a warning on social networking site X regarding "an active shooter."
