Earthquake again in western Afghanistan. The 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck 34 km from Herat on Sunday. One person was killed in the earthquake that occurred around 8 a.m. Many were injured. Another earthquake has occurred in Afghanistan, which has already been hit by a series of earthquakes.

So far 93 people have been injured. But National Disaster Management officials said they were investigating the extent of the destruction. A series of earthquakes on the 7th of this month leveled entire villages in Herat. It was one of the deadliest earthquakes in the country's recent history.
More than 90 percent of those killed last week were women and children, United Nations officials reported Thursday. Taliban officials said earlier earthquakes had killed more than 2,000 people across the province. According to United Nations statistics, the epicenter is located in Jenda Jan district. Here 1,294 people died, 1,688 were injured and many houses collapsed. The october 11 earthquake, followed by several aftershocks and a second magnitude 6.3 quake leveled villages. Schools, health clinics, and other village facilities also collapsed due to the tremors. However, Abdul Wahid Rayan, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Information and Culture, recently asked the world to help Afghanistan. They requested rich countries to help them who were in trouble. Meanwhile, in june 2022, a similar major earthquake occurred in the rugged, mountainous region of eastern Afghanistan. Due to its intensity, stone and mud-brick houses were razed to the ground. Around 1000 people died at that time and another 1500 were injured.
