The hyderabad municipal corporation-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">greater hyderabad municipal corporation (GHMC) still hasn't cleaned up the leftover idols and puja supplies from Saroornagar Lake and numerous other notable lakes in the city, despite the fact that the Ganesh immersion event was almost a week ago. Residents who live close to these lakes are experiencing a number of issues as a result of the unpleasant odor that is now coming from the lakes.
Not only is the scenario visible in Saroornagar Lake, but it is also present at Neknampur Lake. Neknampur Lake has only had its idol debris removed; other puja supplies have been amassed there for more than a week. Sanitation staff have not yet taken action despite several complaints from worried locals, leaving the problem unresolved.
"Given the current circumstances, seasonal flu cases in the city have increased quickly, and our neighborhood is no exception. The problem has been made worse by the insufficient cleanup of idol debris from the water. Only a small portion of the trash has been removed, and some pieces are still around the lake. Additionally, the rubbish that has been gathered thus far has been thrown close to the lake, creating major problems for some 200 households who live nearby.
We haven't been able to open our windows for the past week because of the odour. Even while foul lake odours are typical, the problem is slowly getting worse due to the decomposition of puja accessories, which are primarily made of flowers and leaves. According to Sai Avinash, a local of Saroornagar, if this material is not quickly cleared, it would not only cause issues for the neighborhood's citizens but also represent a threat to the lake's natural health.
The responsible officials are accountable for swiftly cleaning up the rubbish after the immersion. But since this hasn't happened, we don't know how much debris has actually been gathered at this time. The past week has been nothing short of a nightmare for us, the citizens of Saroornagar. The amount of mosquitoes has significantly increased due to the idol debris and puja supplies left around the lake, raising considerable health concerns. To improve the existing situation, it is essential that the government act right away to eliminate this rubbish, according to Mohan, a local of Saroornagar.
