Telangana CM KCR, Owaisi and Raja Singh Have Declared Hate Speech Cases

Six MLAs and three MPs from telangana have reported incidences of hate speech, according to research by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National election Watch (NEW). The chief minister, K. Chandrashekar Rao, is one among them. According to ADR, who examined the election affidavits produced to the electoral commission during the relevant candidates' most recent elections, 42 of the 74 lawmakers and 33 MPs from around the nation who have such issues are members of the BJP.

The ADR discovered that 480 candidates who had registered charges involving hate speech had run in elections for Assemblies and parliament during the previous five years. Political parties have in a way enabled conditions that result in incidents like communal riots and violence between various groups of people, according to ADR, by giving tickets to candidates who have been charged with cases related to hate speech, especially promoting animosity between religious groups and for committing acts intended to outrage religious feelings.

Additionally, there are seven MPs from Uttar Pradesh, four from tamil Nadu, three each from bihar, Karnataka, and telangana, two from each of Assam, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and West Bengal, and one representative from each of Jharkhand, madhya pradesh, Kerala, Odisha, and punjab among the list of current members of parliament. According to a further breakdown by ADR, 22 of the current MPs are affiliated with the BJP, two with the Congress, one with the AIUDF, AIMIM, DMK, MDMK, Pattali Makkal Katchi, shiv sena (Uddhav balasaheb Thackeray), Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, and one with the Independent Party.

According to ADR, among the sitting MLAs included in the disputed list, nine are from bihar and Uttar Pradesh, six each from Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and telangana, five are from Assam, and four are each from Delhi, Gujarat, and West Bengal. There are also one mla from each of madhya pradesh and Odisha.

About 20 sitting MLAs have cases involving hate speech, including 13 from the Congress, 6 from the AAP, 5 each from the SP and YSRCP, 4 from the DMK and the RJD, 3 from the AITC and the SHS, 2 from the AIUDF, and 1 each from the AIMIM, cpi (M), NCP, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, TDP, TMP, TRS, and two independent lawmakers.
