Soon, Financial Services course for engineering students in Telangana
The education Department, the Commissionerate of Technical education, and State Universities like osmania university (OU) and JNTU - hyderabad have decided to introduce this new course in BE/BTech because there are numerous job opportunities in the Banking, Financial services and Insurance (BFSI) sector. Universities and the department recently met to discuss curriculum and modality. In the first week of October, there will be another gathering.
No matter the programme, the new course will be available in the third year of undergraduate engineering. students who choose it will receive a BE/BTech degree with Financial services as a minor subject and can pursue careers in the BFSI sector. Currently, minor programmes in multidisciplinary fields including robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing, data science, cyber security, and internet of things are available.
It will first be covered in the autonomous engineering courses offered by CBIT and the osmania university College of Engineering (OUCE). Later, it will be made available to all OU, JNTU-Hyderabad, and Kakatiya university associated colleges. In addition to university academics, working professionals and industry experts will teach the courses that were created by universities in partnership with BFSI sector specialists. In order to provide hands-on training, it will include both theoretical and practical seminars, projects, and internships in the industry.
The OUCE Academic Council, the college's highest decision-making body, has agreed to take the initiative and allocate 18 credits for the new course, which will be taught from the third-year first semester through the eighth semester. The BCom Financial services programme will be introduced at degree colleges starting in the following academic year in an effort to increase the employability of students choosing traditional degree programmes.
