Telangana - Kitex breaks ground for Rs.1,200 crore cluster

At Seetharampur in the Rangareddy district, the Kitex Group on thursday officially kicked off construction on its second investment project in Telangana. An integrated fiber-to-apparel manufacturing cluster with a capacity of 7 lakh garments per day will be established by Kitex, the second largest manufacturer of infant wear in the world, at a cost of Rs. 1,200 crore, as a result of the groundbreaking ceremony, which was conducted in the presence of IT and industries minister K T Rama Rao, education minister P Sabitha indra Reddy, Mines & Geology minister P Mahender Reddy, and Kitex Group Chairman Sabu M Jacob.

More than 11,000 people will be directly employed by the cluster, which is projected to cover 250 acres in Seetharampur, and more than 80% of those workers would be women. By december 2024, the full investment will be up and running. The Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal, where building of a comparable scale integrated fibre to apparel manufacturing cluster is in full gear, will soon be home to Kitex's first investment project in Telangana. By december of this year, activities are anticipated to start. G Ranjith Reddy, a Chevella MP, and others were present.
