Goenka Hails Telangana and KTR - Praises Telangana’s industry friendly policies
Companies are being completely blown away by Telangana's industry-friendly policies and assistance being offered to management, whether they are in the pharmaceutical, IT, or any other industrial sector. "We choose our confidence and trust in the industrial environment of telangana, and the credit goes to Rama Rao for the industrial development here," he said. The head of the Welspun Group recalled his conversation with the minister in Davos in 2018 and said that there had previously been plans to develop their flooring facility in Gujarat. The management was persuaded, nevertheless, after seeing Rama Rao and the plant arrive in Telangana. He said that the rest is history.
Goenka added that despite the Sintex facility originally being planned for Karnataka, it is now located in telangana owing to Rama Rao's assistance. "The minister has been to see us three times in less than three years, and his presence greatly inspires us. This demonstrates your dedication to the state's industrial development as well. His first visit was for the flooring plant's opening, his second was for the advanced textile unit, and his third visit was for the founding of Sintex today," Goenka added.
The minister promised to invest Rs. 1,200 crore during our most recent meeting. In the past 2.5 years, we have already invested more than Rs. 1200 crore. We now have plans to invest Rs 5,000 crore in this region over the next three to four years. According to Goenka, this will directly generate 20,000 employees and indirectly generate 30,000 jobs.
At Chandanvelly, another Welspun City would be constructed over the following five years. According to him, this would feature a full setup of flooring, modern textiles, and comprehensive plastic items that would be employed for construction operations.
In addition to mentioning that the firm had already hired 500 people for the unit, he said that there was a significant opportunity to recruit new talent within a 100-kilometer radius of Chandanvelly due to the high calibre of schools and universities in the area.
As one is just 45 minutes from the airport and an hour from the city, this will be our largest back office. The future's big thing will be Chandanvelly, which has the potential to become a new suburb and an industrial paradise. In five to seven years, we see a possibility for hiring up to 50,000 people, he said, adding that all of this was made possible by the climate the State government had established, which was always encouraging.
