An indian died in an accident at a construction site in Singapore. A 34-year-old indian man died in an accident at a construction site in Pasir Ris Industrial Drive 1, Singapore. Singapore's Ministry of Manpower said the accident occurred when the steel supporting the cable drum gave way. Officials said that the person working for Alliance E&C who was seriously injured in the accident was rushed to Changi General Hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Following the death of the indian worker, construction and roadworks company hong kong Global has ordered a halt to all cable-laying work there. “As a general safety measure, the cable drum and its accessories must be secured.” Ministry of Manpower said. Also, the ministry is investigating the incident.


About 19 work-related deaths have occurred in singapore so far this year. The number was 30 in 2020, 37 in 2021 and 46 in 2022. Manpower Ministry minister Jacqui Mohamad said the maximum fine will be increased from S$20,000 to S$50,000 for violations of workplace safety and health laws that result in death or serious injury. As a general safety measure, the cable drum and its accessories must be secured.” Ministry of Manpower said. Also, the ministry is investigating the incident.
