Police director General Anjani Kumar stated that the global nature of cybercrimes presented special issues for the police, giving the example of foreign hackers attacking systems in india and other countries. At the Administrative Staff college of india, he stressed the development of police, from ancient cycle patrols to the difficulties data-faced by contemporary cyber patrols, in his fourth oration on the centennial of Prof. S Venugopal Rao's birth. He emphasised the issues of social media surveillance by criminal and terrorist organisations as well as the necessity for readiness within policing systems and the broader criminal justice system.

Anjani Kumar used the reservation dispute between the Meitei and Kookie groups in Manipur to illustrate how modern problems of distinct identity have fueled regional hostility. He stressed incidences like the 5 kg RDX bombing in ludhiana in 2007 and the 2008 mumbai attacks, which were the first international terrorist strike in india and claimed the lives of individuals from all over the world.
According to the DGP, crime changed when cultures moved from being food gatherers to producers of food, going from small-time stealing and fights to more complicated crimes that were motivated by trades and exchanges and frequently involved conspiracies and partnerships. He next turned his attention to data-border issues, emphasising how important coastal security is to india given its long coastline and data-borders with Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Myanmar. He discussed IoT hazards, drone risks, real-world examples of critical infrastructure damage, cyber security concerns, undetected data breaches, infrastructure vulnerabilities, real-world examples of critical infrastructure damage, jail administration, and people trafficking.
In order to address these issues, the DGP emphasised the need of public awareness and education efforts. In especially in the age of social media amplification, he appealed for critical thinking and good leadership in handling fear and anxiety.
