Himanta Biswa Sarma on passing of Women Reservation Bill

The Women’s Reservation Bill was passed unanimously in the rajya sabha on thursday (21 September) during the

special session of the Parliament. After the bill received support from all parties, now assam CM Himanta Biswa

Sarma’s reaction has come to light. Himanta Sarma praised the Women’s Reservation Bill and congratulated all the

countrymen for it.

While posting on, assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote - Where women are respected, gods reside there and

only there is happiness and prosperity. The unanimous passage of the Nari shakti Vandan Act in both Houses of

Parliament reflects the resolve of indian democracy to empower its women to take the nation forward.

Praising PM Modi, Himanta Sarma further said that the long standing demand was realized and women got their

rightful place under the leadership of prime minister Narendra Modi. Congratulations to all Indians! He also shared

a video, in which Vice President jagdeep dhankhar is seen congratulating all the members sitting in the Rajya

Sabha including PM Modi.

After the bill was passed in rajya sabha, prime minister Narendra Modi also expressed his happiness and

congratulated 140 crore countrymen in a post on social media platform X. PM Modi said that I thank all those

rajya sabha MPs who voted for the Nari shakti Vandan Act. This kind of support is really heartening. He said that

with the passage of the Nari shakti Vandan Act in Parliament, we are ushering in an era of stronger representation

and empowerment for the women of India.
